Plotting Formats
The Advance Reprographics Plotting Department supports a wide variety of industry-standard file formats. If you are working in AutoCAD, we strongly recommend using the AutoCAD VIC driver to make accurate, print-ready files directly out of AutoCAD. The .vic is the native file format of Apprentice, our large-format print server. Both Apprentice and the VIC driver are made by AutoDesk. Upon installation, the VIC24.pc3 driver will appear in your AutoCAD plot configuration dialog along with you other plotters. For more information, click here.
If you are not using AutoCAD and want to send plot files, we recommend HGPL/2 plot files (configured for an HP 650, 750, 755CM, 1055, etc). Additonally, we can plot TIFF, CALS and PDF files. In order to plot native AutoCAD DWG files, we must receive all supporting files: fonts, Xrefs, .ctb/pc2, etc. To ensure all files are included, make an eTransmit (R2000 and higher) or Pack & Go (R14). Without all supporting files, we cannot guarantee either accuracy or a quick turnaround. Please note that we also charge more to plot AutoCAD DWG files than we do to plot other formats.
